Write for CalcFactor
We publish a limited number of guest articles from people with real, practical knowledge to share. Read the guidelines below before you pitch.
What We're Looking For
CalcFactor is a free, private personal finance tool site — mortgages, debt payoff, retirement, and building wealth. We're looking for original articles that help someone make a specific financial decision with more confidence, written by people with real, first-hand knowledge of the topic.
✅ We're a good fit if your article:
- Is about mortgages, homebuying, debt payoff, retirement planning, saving, or personal finance for freelancers/small business owners
- Is original — written for us, not published anywhere else first or at the same time
- Comes from real experience or expertise — a lender, a financial professional, someone who's actually lived through the situation they're writing about
- Is practical and specific — real numbers, real steps, not generic advice available on a hundred other sites
- Is roughly 1,000–2,000 words
What Gets Declined
To be direct about it: most "write for us" submissions across the internet are from link-sellers, not writers. We review every pitch, and we decline anything that doesn't clearly meet the criteria above — no explanation owed, no exceptions made for a persuasive email.
🚫 Automatic decline:
- Any article whose real purpose is inserting a promotional or commercial link — not the content itself
- Previously published content, spun/reworded articles, or anything that reads as AI-generated filler
- Content unrelated to personal finance, or written by someone with no genuine connection to the topic
- Pitches that lead with "we'll pay you" or "we'll pay you to publish this" rather than the article itself
- Anything promoting predatory lending, get-rich-quick schemes, or unlicensed financial products
How to Submit
Email your complete draft (not just a pitch or outline) to hello@calcfactor.com with the subject line "Guest Article: [your topic]". Include a sentence or two about your background and why you're the right person to write it.
We read every submission, but given volume, we're only able to respond to the ones we plan to publish. If you don't hear back within a few weeks, assume it wasn't a fit.
📝 One byline link
Approved articles get one author bio link back to your site or profile — not links embedded throughout the body.
✏️ We may edit
We may edit for clarity, accuracy, or length before publishing. We'll never change your meaning without checking with you first.
🔍 We verify facts
Any figures, rates, or rules you cite need to be current and correct — we check before publishing.
🙅 No guarantee
Submitting doesn't guarantee publication. We only publish what's genuinely useful to our readers.
